1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of Telemedia's services, network, and systems. All users of our services must comply with this policy.
Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of services, and may lead to legal action.
2. Prohibited Activities
Users may not use Telemedia services for any unlawful, harmful, or offensive purposes. The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Transmission of illegal content or content that infringes intellectual property rights
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Engaging in activities that compromise network security or integrity
- Sending spam or unsolicited bulk communications
- Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior towards others
- Unauthorized access to systems or data
- Activities that violate South African law or international regulations
3. Network Security
Users must not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of our services.
The following security violations are prohibited:
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any network or system
- Port scanning or network discovery without permission
- Interference with service to any user, host, or network
- Forging TCP/IP packet headers or email headers
- Using the services to compromise security of other networks
4. Resource Usage
Users must use network resources responsibly and must not:
- Consume excessive bandwidth that degrades service for other users
- Run programs or processes that interfere with network operations
- Use automated systems that generate excessive traffic
- Resell or redistribute services without authorization
5. Content Standards
All content transmitted or stored using our services must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Users are responsible for all content they transmit, store, or display through our services.
6. Email and Messaging
Email services must be used responsibly. Users must not:
- Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages
- Forge email headers or sender information
- Use email for harassment or threats
- Send emails containing malware or phishing attempts
- Violate CAN-SPAM Act or similar regulations
7. Compliance and Cooperation
Users must cooperate with Telemedia in investigating suspected violations of this AUP.
Telemedia reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and report illegal activities to law enforcement.
Users must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
8. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning or notification of violation
- Temporary suspension of services
- Permanent termination of services
- Legal action and reporting to authorities
- Financial liability for damages caused
9. Reporting Violations
We encourage users to report violations of this AUP. Reports should include:
Detailed description of the violation
Date and time of the incident
Any relevant logs or evidence
Contact information for follow-up
10. Policy Updates
Telemedia reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes.
Continued use of services after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
